During your trip to Montenegro, you will notice breathtaking views almost everywhere. How can it be different if you are surrounded by the beautiful mountains and the Adriatic Sea? But still, there are several viewpoints that are special.
Kotor views

Being a truly picturesque location, the Bay of Kotor provides you not with one, but with several great viewpoints to make awesome photos and to enjoy them. These viewpoints include: St. John Fortress, Kotor serpentine, the upper station of Kotor cable car, Vrmac Fortress, and others.
The most well-known viewpoint is St. John Fortress (also known as Kotor Fortress), where you can climb directly from the Old Town. It gives you perfect views of the Bay of Kotor and the Old Town, changing all the time you go up. Less known, located on the other side of the Bay of Kotor, Vrmac fortress will share with you an alternative picture. Nice thing about Vrmac is that you can find several good hiking trails here, for example, you can go on foot from Kotor to Tivat or vice-versa.
If you don’t want to do much hiking, just go up on the Kotor cable car. Here you can enjoy spectacular views from the upper station without much effort.
Pavlova Strana viewpoint

We can call Pavlova Strana a natural wonder of Montenegro. It is a fantastic view of the Crnojević River near Lake Skadar. Several viewpoints offering this view are located close to Rijeka Crnojevića village, not far from Cetinje. The form of the Crnojević River resembles a horseshoe bend. Green hills surround the river, making the view even more breathtaking.
You can combine visiting this viewpoint with Lake Skadar boating and seeing the old bridge in Rijeka Crnojevića (don’t forget about fish restaurants as well).
Lovćen viewpoint

The second highest peak of Mount Lovćen is Jezerski vrh (1,657 m). This is an important cultural site. Here you can visit Petar Njegoš’s Mausoleum. Petar II Njegoš was the greatest Montenegrin Vladika (Prince-Bishop), poet, and philosopher. Also, this place is a scenic viewpoint, giving you spectacular mountain views around it. They say you can see almost all of Montenegro from the top of Mount Lovćen in good weather.
Sveti Stefan views

The easiest way to enjoy an iconic view of Sveti Stefan is to stop on the road from Budva to Bar (the viewpoint is marked, so you won’t miss it, tourist buses also stop here). If this is not enough for you, there are a bunch of hiking trails going up from Sveti Stefan. Probably, the most famous is Yegor’s path. It goes from Praskvica monastery to the top of Čelobrdo mountain. The path was built just by one person – a Russian monk, Yegor Stroganov, in the late 18th and early 19th centuries.
Durmitor views

Durmitor National Park offers plenty of opportunities for taking photos and enjoying fantastic views. Along the famous scenic route known as the Durmitor Ring, such views as Ćurevac, Tara Canyon, Bobotov Kuk, Prutaš Peak, Sedlo Pass, Savin Kuk, and others are located. This full route takes about 3 hours, but you can do only a part of it and still have wonderful views.
