Petrovac (or Petrovac na Moru) is a small green city on the Adriatic coast situated between Budva and Bar in Montenegro. Very quiet in winter, it is usually full of tourists during the summer season.
Petrovac has a very long beach (and several beaches more in its surroundings) and it is fine for spending a family vacation with children.
Petrovac embankment is very green, charming, full of cafes and other attractions.
At the end of the embankment, near Petrovac harbour you will see a Venetian fortress of 16th century. It is known as Fortress Castello (Castio) or Kastel Lastva. The fortress is one of the most recognizable symbols of Petrovac.
In front of Petrovac embankment and beach you will see two islands: Katič and Sveta Nedelja. It is possible to visit them on boat or kayak, many boat tours are suggested along the embankment.
Petrovac is surrounded by pine forests and one of the best way to enjoy simultaneously the forests and the Adriatic Sea is going along the hiking trail Petrovac – Reževići. It is 3 km long and starts near the end of Petrovac embankment (ends near Reževići monastery, it is open and free for visitors). It is a comfortable trail, no extreme ups and downs so everybody can enjoy its picturesque views. On your way, you’ll find a nice beach and a large abandoned Yugoslavian hotel.
